What I’ve Been Listening To Last Week

I’m currently going through a process where I listen to all albums in my library that I haven’t listened to in a long time. My iTunes library consists of more than 110 gigabytes of music, which is more than 16,000 songs, at around 57 days. That’s not  counting podcasts, audiobooks, or any other kind of media I might have in iTunes.

Since I have a very time-consuming job, I don’t have time to listen to a lot of music at home. Anything I listen to on my iPod isn’t counted on Last.fm. I could probably create a smart playlist to get more accurate statistics, but I suck at that kind of stuff, nor do I really want to anyway.

The reason for me having a whole lot of Casino Versus Japan in my weekly top ten is just that I listened to three of his albums in a row: Hitori + Kaiso 1998 - 2001, Go Hawaii and Whole Numbers Play The Basics. He does make some beautiful music. The rest is just random albums. 1999 by Cassius, VOXXX by Denki Groove, Silent Alarm by Bloc Party, Homework by Daft Punk, etc. The list goes on and on. I still have almost five days worth of music in my Party Shuffle list. It’s definitely going to take a while to go through all of this stuff.

What will I gain by doing this? Probably nothing. But it’s fun, and I get to listen to lots of cool music.
