Response to iTunes App Store user “Mockup”

“To the dev: My only suggestion would be to reduce the app’s disk space footprint. Based on the many iPhone games I’ve played, I feel like this should be able to fit in way less than 24 mb. Many of us still have 8 gb iPhones, filled to the brim with music, podcasts, photos, videos, and other apps… every megabyte counts. Thanks!”

I don’t know if you’ll see this or anything but I thought I’d just tell you that of those 24 megabytes, something like 95% (probably even more) is audio. All background music is 44 kHz 16-bit stereo, and the sound effects are the same but in mono. I did consider lowering the quality of the sound files but I personally wanted every player to have the best possible experience aurally. Even at a lower quality (22 kHz, 32 kHz, something) the game would be way over 10 megabytes in size. So, uh, sorry, but this is unlikely to change. :)
